What makes Luamu Care different to any other beauty brand?

Luamu Care is an African beauty brand by an African for rich or poor & for young & old. The brand was inspired by the richness, diversity and cultures of the African continent and its people. Luamu Care is more than ritual but journey and lifestyle of healing, loving and empowering.

What is slow beauty?

Slow Beauty is a sustainable form of self–care. Diversifying beauty includes producing products with less waste, ethically sourced, and overall better quality products. In a sense, it is to simply slow down within the skincare industry but also slow down how we use skincare. Slow Beauty is a practice and philosophy of wholeness in direct response to a lifestyle that has become too fast. This beauty is both simple deep, it is a process of becoming more wholly you, and that is ongoing.

Are you cruelty free?

Yes, we sure are! This means that our products and ingredients have never been tested on animals by our suppliers nor us. This includes no use of any animal products or byproducts thereof. We, too, do not sell our products in countries where animal testing is mandatory. This means we are vegan-friendly too!

Then what does African beauty mean?

The term clean beauty originated in Africa. In a place where the community is the cornerstone and celebration of togetherness, we believe sharing is truly caring. Ubuntu is a Zulu phrase – “Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu” meaning “I am, because you are”. Without our enriched organic resources from our land, along with ancestors’ beauty rituals, Luamu Care will not have existed today. We are caringly creating products made from our indigenous ingredients that are not harmful or non-toxic. We avoid ingredients linked to harmful health effects, which can range from hormone disruption and cancer. That is clean beauty. Products that are mindfully and sustainably – formulated without any known or potentially harmful ingredients.

Do you cater for older consumers too?

Of course! But in a new way of aging beauty. We are choosing to redefine aging beauty. We do this by replacing anti-aging with well–aging and reaffirming that beauty is for all in every stage of life. We believe that beauty only gets better with age, so we celebrate beauty at every age. Luamu Care is more than just a skincare brand, our dream is for everyone to truly embrace their beauty as our products are formulated to embrace it with you.

Meet Lulama, LUAMU Founder

Lulama, has been developing her own African concotions for years.

Because of her hormonal condition - PCOS and her daughter's condition i.e. eczema, she found that the products available in retail didn’t suit them. This led her to try natural ingredients, and she quickly realized the power of them on her skin.

LUAMU was born in 2020 and is the result of the combination of Lulama's condition and interest in natural cosmetics.
